The Series of Master Classes

Each of our guest artists will concentrate their work on songs by selected poets and composers chosen from the participant repertoire lists. The collation and distribution of submitted repertoire among the master teachers serves to enhance the artistic focus of each session, while ensuring full scope and variety throughout the course as a whole

ELLY AMELING The Dutch soprano Elly Ameling has won international acclaim as a consummate artist of the Lied, beloved and admired around the world. (August 6 - 8)
BARBARA BONNEY One of the leading lyric sopranos of her generation, American-born Barbara Bonney has devoted much of her career to Lieder and is currently Professor at the Mozarteum in Salzburg, as well as Guest Professor of the Royal Academy of Music in London. (July 13 - 15)
HELMUT DEUTSCH Professor of Lied and Accompaniment at the Munich Academy of Music, the Austrian pianist Helmut Deutsch performs extensively with the most famous singers of our time. (July 23 - 25)
JULIUS DRAKE The celebrated English pianist Julius Drake specialises in the field of chamber music, working with many of the world’s leading vocal and instrumental artists and appearing at all the major music centres. (July 16 - 18)
ROBERT HOLL Professor of Lied and Oratorio at the Vienna Academy of Music, the Dutch bass Robert Holl is  famous for his Wagner roles at Bayreuth, Berlin, and Vienna.  He is an eminent interpreter of German and Russian art song, with a profound affinity to the works of Franz Schubert. WOLFGANG HOLZMAIR The Austrian baritone Wolfgang Holzmair, one of the most important exponents of the Lied in the world today, is Professor at the Mozarteum in Salzburg. . (July 9 - 11)
RUDOLF JANSEN One of the finest living accompanists, the Dutch pianist Rudolf Jansen, Professor at the Conservatorium van Amsterdam, is much in demand throughout the world as a master-class teacher. (July 20 - 22)
WOLFRAM RIEGER Professor of Lied and Accompaniment at the Hanns Eisler Academy of Music in Berlin, the German pianist Wolfram Rieger performs and records extensively with the most famous singers of our time.(July 28 - 30)
